Have you ever noticed that sometimes you just can not get the produce you are after even though it is the right season?
Have you noticed that the price serverly changes at times for certain produce? For come explanations, have a look at the photos below, this is just one of many different reasons prices can change and produce availability can vary.
These photos were taken in winter 2007 in the Toowoomba area of Queensland Australia, during the day in the "Sunshine State", temperatures dropped so long that frost severly damaged the growing crops. It was so cold that even the water inside in houses froze. The effects weather can have on produce can slow down supply dramatically and therefore push the price up.
So take it easy on your local fruit shop owner when price's rise and product is short supply, sometimes it is just out of ones control.
